With a book open on my lap.
I like how a pair of hands can fit together with another so exquisitely.
I like how fragile and delicate a face is when fast asleep.
I like the gleam that shows up in peoples eyes when they smile.
I like the refreshing feeling that lurks through one’s body after one cries.
I like watching the complexion of nature.
I like the flow of the piano.
I like feeling the air drift in and out of my lungs and how music makes me melt.
I like being by myself.
I like the scent of rain and how the stars shine at night.
I like how I get lost in life.
I like thinking. I like sleep.
I like the simple things that keep me living this journey
That is really an adventure in disguise.

The Correct And Proper Way To Feel

“Is this how I’m supposed to feel now?”

“I don’t know, I’ll check the manual.”

“And?”

“It says that you’re feeling the right way.”

“What way is that?”

“It says that there is no right way to feel but, right now, after something like this happens, you do need to feel however you’re feeling and that feeling this way, however you’re feeling, is healthy.”

“That doesn’t sound very scientific.”

“It has nothing to do with science.”

“Does it say anything else?”

“It says you’ll break something if you beat yourself up for the way you feel and that you won’t be able to feel differently until you’ve finished feeling this feeling.”

“Ok. How long will that take?”

“I don’t know. How do you feel?”

What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper
Unfolds world after world after world -
Worlds that sing to you, comfort you, quiet you, or excite you.
Books help us understand who we are and how we are to behave.
They show us what bravery and friendship mean;
They show us how to live and die.

Today was the first time ever that I have donated blood! They were having a clinic at my school this whole week, so I figured why not. It felt good to know that I could potentially save someone’s life with my blood, or at least help them get through an illness. I urge you to donate blood if you haven’t already; http://www.bloodservices.ca/ is a good place to start if you’re in Canada.
